CJ, World Bank Africa Group ED Discuss Development Cooperation
The World Bank delegation led by Ms Ann Kabagambe with the Hon. Bart Katureebe at his chambers at the High Court
The Chief Justice, Hon.Justice Bart M. Katureebe, on Wednesday January 3, 2019 held a meeting with the Executive Director of the World Bank Africa Group, Ms Ann Kabagambe. She was accompanied by Ms Solome Lumala, a Senior Advisor at the World Bank.
The meeting discussed a number of issues concerning development cooperation between the Uganda Judiciary and the Word Bank, which included the following:
- World Bank's involvement in Uganda's Justice Sector as well as the East African Community Judicial Sector.
- Advocacy for the prevention of Gender-Based Violence project pending parliamentary approval.
- Participation in discussions with a group of Executive Directors of the World Bank to visit Uganda in February 19, 2019. The meeting will also attract leaders of various sectors in Uganda that have development cooperation with the World Bank.
The meeting was also attended by the Principal Judge, Hon. Justice Dr Yorokamu Bamwine; Hon. Justice Gadenya Paul Wolimbwa (Judiciary Projects), Mr. Kagole Kivumbi (PS/SJ); HW Esta Nambayo (Chief Registrar); and HW Boniface Wamala; PLS to Chief Justice.
